About the Triangle Area Green Party
The Triangle Area Green Party is a local affiliate of the North Carolina Green Party in central North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding areas). The NCGP is part of the nationwide Green Party of the United States. The party is organized to pursue the achievement of key principles rather than political power for its own sake. At the moment, one of the main goals of the North Carolina Green Party and of the Triangle Greens is to achieve ballot access statewide, despite restrictive laws intended to prevent participation in the political process by "third parties."
The TAGP meets once a month for business planning, and sponsors and participates in events that forward the party's goals as expressed in the Ten Key Values. New members are always welcome! Friends are also welcome to join with us at events; official membership is of much less importance than sympathy with our goals.
